PORSCHE INTRODUCES NEW HYBRID VARIANTS OF THE PANAMERA

Porsche is expanding the Panamera range with the 4 E-Hybrid and 4S E-Hybrid variants. The new plug-in hybrids feature impressive acceleration and dynamics, as well as high E-Performance performance.

Porsche continues to expand the powertrain lineup for the Panamera sports sedan.

Optimized hybrid performance
The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is particularly efficient and versatile. To ensure powerful acceleration, Porsche has combined the new hybrid system with a significantly upgraded 2.9-liter V6 biturbo gasoline engine (224 kW/304 PS).

The Panamera 4S E-Hybrid places more emphasis on driving dynamics as well as a steady supply of power in the upper rev range. Its 2.9-liter biturbo six-cylinder engine delivers 260 kW (353 PS).

Compared to the previous generation, all Panamera E-Hybrid models offer greater electric range, faster charging speeds, better throttle response and better driving performance in virtually all disciplines.

Four optimized driving modes specific to E-Hybrid as well as the enhanced Sport and Sport Plus modes further optimize the efficiency of the E-Hybrid models.

The vehicles always start in purely electric E-Power mode. As soon as the battery level falls below a certain minimum value, the system automatically switches to Hybrid Auto mode, which adapts the driving strategy to the current traffic situation. Furthermore, thanks to active route guidance in Hybrid Auto mode, the driving strategy is further optimized through knowledge of the upcoming route.

In this way, the proportion of distances traveled on electric power in urban traffic can be maximized and efficiency improved. For this purpose, the system uses both vehicle data and navigation data.

In E-Hold mode, the current state of charge of the battery is stored. In E-Charge mode, the combustion engine charges the battery by 80 percent in urban areas and at speeds above 55 km/h, and the Panamera takes advantage of the hybrid drive in city driving.

In Sport and Sport Plus modes, Porsche reduces the target battery level to 20 and 30 percent respectively (previously 30 and 80 percent). This increases efficiency without compromising dynamics.

The technology also enables innovative functions such as roll and roll compensation and body lift when getting in and out of the car.

All variants of the new Panamera have a sporty, fresh design. At the front, it is distinguished by the standard, newly shaped LED matrix headlights and an additional horizontal air intake.

At the rear of the sports sedan, the new Panamera is distinguished by continuous taillights and a frameless rear window. Silver window trim emphasizes the side line.
